Mark's Finest Papers Nov. 26th **SIMPLE SALUTATIONS **CHALLENGE 119 - Button Up.

Here's my sample for the challenge. Thanks for looking!

Pretty basic card.  I just stamped the snowflakes in silver and cut around the edges, randomly.  I used an embossing folder on the edge of the white piece and just scored some lines in the red.  A green Copic marker was used to color white buttons and added some red threads and ribbon to complete the card.  In retrospect I think I should have stamped the snowflakes in red.  But...oh well. lol

I used MFP stamp sets "Snowflakes".

Mark's Finest Papers Nov. 12th **SIMPLE SALUTATIONS **CHALLENGE 118 - Shades of Gray.
Here's my sample for the challenge. Thanks for looking!

I used a couple of different paper "grays", including the piece that has the stamped main image.  Image and sentiment were stamped using Momento Tuxedo Black.  Pretty basic card with just a few small pearls added to the reindeer as a collar and a matching bow to make the color "pop".

I used MFP stamp set "Crisp Winter".

Mark's Finest Papers Oct. 29th **SIMPLE SALUTATIONS **CHALLENGE 117 - Boo to you, halloween.
Here's my sample for the challenge. Thanks for looking!

I did quite a bit of masking to create the "pumpkin patch."  I raised one pumpkin and the owl and branch to create dimension.  The "moon" was masked as I used daubers to ink in the sky.  Copics were used to color the images and the "googly eyes" added the perfect finish to my owl.

I used MFP stamp sets "Scenic Scenes" , "Owls", and Witchie" for the boo sentiment.

Mark's Finest Papers October 15th **SIMPLE SALUTATIONS **CHALLENGE 116 - Things with wings.
Here's my sample for the challenge. Thanks for looking!

I picked out some matching colors for the variety of layers and I embossed half of the white panel before stamping. I used Memento Tuxedo Black to stamp my butterflies and the word Fly. The butterflies were colored using Copic markers and I added a clear Glitter pen to add additional sparkle. The glittery sticker sentiment seemed to be the perfect finish to the card.

I used MFP stamp sets "Wings"and "Bearded Iris".

Mark's Finest Papers October 1st **SIMPLE SALUTATIONS **CHALLENGE 115 - Elemennts, use metal.
Here's my sample for the challenge. Thanks for looking!

Since "metal" was to be my inspiration, I really felt I needed to Gold emboss my leaves. It gave the card some added sheen to accent my gold metal clip holding the sentiment. Naturally I felt it necessary to use my Gold Leafing pen to edge the "tag" and panel. hehe

I used MFP stamp set "Thankful" mini set.

Mark's Finest Papers Sept. 17th **SIMPLE SALUTATIONS **CHALLENGE 114 - Play ball.
Here's my sample for the challenge. Thanks for looking!

I was surprised to find that I didn't have any "sports" related stamp sets, other than fishing, and that doesn't require a "ball". lol So, thankfully MFPs has great sentiments that will work for just about any type of card and this is how this card was created. The die cut banners were perfect for the "Go for it" sentiment.

I used MFP stamp sets "Gear Up" and "Black-eyed Susans" (I think the large set may be retired).

Mark's Finest Papers Sept. 3rd **SIMPLE SALUTATIONS **CHALLENGE 113 - Recipe card/use 1 image, 2 flowers, 3 papers, 4 brads.
Here's my sample for the challenge. Thanks for looking!

I paper pieced my little snow guy's cap and jacket, adding pompoms and buttons for accents. Copic markers were used to color everything else. The blender was used on the mittens to give it a knit sort of look...I did say, sort of. lol

I used MFP stamp set "Brrrr".

August 27th **SIMPLE SALUTATIONS **CHALLENGE 112 - Favorite School Subject.
Here's my sample for the challenge. Thanks for looking!

Ok...perhaps you guessed, I really didn't want to be a Pirate in school but it was the best I could come up with. LOL Everything was stamped using A*muse inks and Memento Tuxedo Black, and colored using Copic markers.

I used MFP stamp set "Buried Treasure".

August 20th **SIMPLE SALUTATIONS **CHALLENGE 111 - Bears..
Here's my sample for Mark's Finest Papers design team.

I decided that this Bear needed to be done using the Burned Edges technique. It's one of my faves for masculine cards! Just tear around your image and apply your lightest tan/brown ink (using sponge or dauber) around the edges, going up to the image...then apply the next darker ink, going half way through the lighter brown, use the darkest tan/brown to finish up in the same method. 3 shades of ink should be enough. I then use black on the very edge to really pop the "burned" look. I needed to cut the "happy birthday" sentiment in half to make it fit on the tag. Love clear stamps for that reason.

I used MFP stamp set "North American Woods".

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
August 6th **SKETCH WITH A TWIST ** Challenge 109 - Use Oriental Paper.
Here's my sample for Mark's Finest Papers design team.
I used some Oriental background paper and stamped the Asian script on a piece for the layer. I paper pieced the lantern, cut it out and used some 3D mounting tape before attaching it to the card base. Some Candies, gems, and my Gold Leafing pen added some nice finishing touches.
I used MFP stamp set "Lanterns".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I used MFP stamp set "Pucker Up".

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
