Girls Just Want To Have Fun

Boy, do girls want to have fun! I just returned from
a great time, at a lovely lake, at my friend's cottage.
The fun was even boosted by the fact that two more
friends joined us for some major stamping and
laughing good times. We all had some creative
blocks, boo boos, AND some very successful card
making. Hanging with your buds is TOPS! This
card is one of the cards I made while there.
This awesome stamp set was from Stamping Bella.
I colored it using Copic markers. A couple of my
friends said I should raise the bow on the shoes
and add some bling. I think they gave me some great
advice! The sentiment is a quote by Marilyn Monroe.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
**Inspiration Destination  91 - Anything Goes
**Crafty Creations 318 - Anything Goes
**Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge 283 - Anything Goes
**Chocolate, Coffee & Cards 112 - Girls of Summer

Thanks for stopping by!

Some Ugly Bird Fun!

What can I say??? I just love those little
UGLY BIRDS by Tim Holtz! So, here is my Birdie!!
Even though the paper has an almost pale pink
to it, it IS white. lol. I die cut my bird and used
Copic markers to make him a cutesy Blue bird of
summer. I used some mounting tape to pop him up.
One great "hello" die cut, an embossed background
piece of white and that's it!

I entered this in the following challenges:
**Addicted to CAS 91 - Fly
**Addicted to Stamps 129 - Anything Summer
**Stamplorations CAS June - Blue
**Word Art Wednesday 236-237- Anything Goes

MFP Stamps Challenge 26 - Color Challenge

MFP Stamps Challenge 26
Color is WHITE
Remember you can use black and a small amount of one other color
Here's my sample card as a design team member for Mark's Finest Papers! Thanks for looking and head on over to JOIN IN the challenge fun!
I love white on white and this couldn't get much easier.
I ran a layer of white through an embossing folder and
layered that on black. I always love how the black makes
the white, or colors, pop! I added some white (yes, it is
white, not pink like it seems. lol) ribbon. I stamped
my camellia and colored it using Copics. I used some
light grays and a very light green. I raised the flower
using mounting tape and DONE!
Join in the current challenge now!!

I used MFP stamp set

"Camellia"
"Great Flowers"

Here's my card for
DAY 3
This stamp set was lots of fun because it allowed me
to create my own layout. It took me a couple of tries
to get the right look I desired but I am happy with how
it turned out. I stamped everything in black and used
my Copics to add color. Once I had the desired effect,
I created my layout for the completion of the card.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the Hop!

June 24- Scrapbook Layout by Sandy

Let's get started !!

Here's my card for
DAY 2
For this card I created my grilling tools background by
stamping them in gray. I stamped the grill, colored it using
Copic markers, and cutting it out. I attached it using mounting
tape. I stamped my sentiment and layered it, and the rest
of the card, using black cardstock. Once the card was put
together I used FSJ Glaze to shine up my grill!
Thanks for stopping by and please get out and
enjoy the blog hop!

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 299

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 299
-Distressing -

I will admit that I haven't "distressed" any of my cards
for quite awhile. I did have a little "tool" made just
for roughing up edges. Sadly, it doesn't show up very
well on my card. Even zooming in doesn't show the
effect. Oh well. lol.
Another thing that didn't show up in my pic was the
fact that I added an extra wing to the butterfly to
give the appearance of flight. Again, Oh well. hehe
I did enjoy the great digis from MHK Designs and
I am sure that you will find something perfect for
your own card making pleasure.

Be sure to check them all out!

Still time to get involved with the current challenge at Tuesday Throwdown.

June 24- Scrapbook Layout by Sandy

Let's get started !!

Here's my card for
DAY 1
Summer sure does make me think about the great
outdoors and that makes me happy. I took my rainy day
and prepared for this blog hop. This card was started
by picking out my pattern background paper first.
I do things backwards sometimes. Once I found
the fun paper I chose my MFP stamp set. I stamped
my images and colored them using Copic markers.
Then I cut my hills out of brown cardstock, running
one of the pieces through an embossing folder. I stamped
my sentiment and pieced the card together, using
mounting tape to raise up my moose for a bit of
dimension. I love this stamp set and had fun creating
this card. Hope you enjoy hopping along with
all of us on the design team!

Stamps can be found in MFP Stamp Shop.
I used:

"In Tents"
"Friends"

MFP Stamps Challenge 25 - Follow Different Card Tutorial

MFP Stamps Challenge 25
Different Card - follow TUTORIAL
(Twisted Easel Card)
tutorial with additional directions
Here's my sample card as a design team member for Mark's Finest Papers! Thanks for looking and head on over to JOIN IN the challenge fun!
I followed BOTH of the tutorials. I felt I needed
additional info and by using both I got the help
I needed. :-) I picked out my cardstock and THEN
I chose the stamp set I wanted to use. Yep, a tad
backwards but it worked for this card. I stamped
my images and colored them with Copic markers
and cut them out. I added googly eyes for my
cute little frog. He is raised, with mounting tape,
and works great for my "stopper".  I also raised
my umbrella so it could be placed over the
sentiments a bit. Thanks for stopping by. Now head
on over and join in the challenge!!

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 297

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 297
-Man's World -
First of all I printed out my cute little Jake.
I cut him out, leaving him attached to the
lower part of the cardstock. I then took a piece
of green and cut it like a slopping hill and ran it
through an embossing folder for some great
texture. Once I colored my image, using Copic
markers, I die cut out some clouds. I glued the
green "hill" to blue, then the image piece to the
green, with mounting tape behind Jake, to raise
him a bit. I had printed out two of the images and I
colored the hat of the second and cut it out and
mounted it up on my main image for some fun
dimension. I added the clouds and the "Howdy"
sentiment (MFP).  Robyn has so many darling
digis and I had fun with this one! Thanks for
stopping by!

MFP Stamps Challenge 23 - CAS theme: Beach

MFP Stamps Challenge 23
CAS Theme - Beach
(CAS=Cards can not have more than 1 other
full layer besides the card base. There needs to
be a one stamped image as your focal point.
There needs to be lots of white or open space.)

Here's my sample card as a design team member for Mark's Finest Papers! Thanks for looking and head on over to JOIN IN the challenge fun!
I have really come to LOVE the CAS cards.
This was very simple, aka EASY, and it turned
out nice. :)  Better yet, I think it can be used
for guys or gals. I started with the main card
back. I then cut another piece, a 1/4" smaller,
and ran that through an embossing folder for
some great texture. Then I cut a piece a 1/4"
smaller than that one and that is the piece I
stamped my image and sentiment on. I used
Copic markers to color and just took my black
pen and dotted around the edge to add some
dimension. I love the sentiment!!
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to join in

I used MFP stamp set

"Silly Shells"
